Software Engineering Tech Lead (PHP Backend)

Contract: 1 year | Onsite: 2 days/week | Client: Dublin Based

Our client needs an experienced PHP Backend Tech Lead for a 1-year contract. You’ll lead the design and build of their real-time availability engine and integrations. This is a technical leadership role - no people management, just deep hands-on architecture and delivery.

Contract: 12 months
Onsite: 2 days/week

What You’ll Do

• Own technical direction and system architecture
• Develop scalable backend services in PHP and Symfony
• Ensure solutions meet business needs
• Review code, mentor developers, and guide best practices
• Coordinate with offshore and cross-team stakeholders
• Improve code quality, testing, and CI/CD processes

What You Bring

• 6+ years in software development with technical ownership
• Expert in PHP (7 or 8) and Symfony (or similar framework)
• Strong experience with REST/SOAP APIs
• Solid database design and performance skills
• Familiar with async processing, containers, and cloud environments
• Skilled in automated testing and CI/CD
• Strong grasp of clean architecture, design patterns, and SOLID principles
• Clear communicator, comfortable across teams and time zones

Nice to Have

• Availability engines or real-time data experience
• OTA XML/JSON knowledge
• Integrations with booking or hospitality systems
• Domain-Driven Design (DDD) experience
• Symfony/PHP certifications
